01 / Self-closer
Closes itself. Every time.
A fire door that stands open is just a door. We check closing force, speed and latching — and that the closer fitted matches the doorset’s certification.
02 / Intumescent + smoke seals
The seal that saves the compartment.
At around 200°C the intumescent strip expands to many times its size, sealing the gap between leaf and frame. Missing, painted-over or wrongly sized seals are the most common failure we survey.
03 / Ironmongery — CE hinges ×3
Hung on the right hardware.
Three CE-marked hinges minimum, fire-rated latches and levers — every item checked against the doorset’s data sheet, tightened, and logged.
04 / Fire-rated glazing
Vision without the weakness.
Vision panels only perform with the tested glass, beads and seals working as a system. We verify markings and beads — not just that there’s glass in the hole.
05 / Gaps — 2–4 mm, measured
Millimetres decide it.
Leaf-to-frame gaps outside tolerance let smoke and fire straight through. We measure every edge of every door and record it — “3 mm” is data; “looks fine” is not.
